Tip #1: Thrift Shopping is Truly Thrifty

Everyone wants to get more for their money, and resale shops give us the opportunity to do so. When you shop at thrift stores, you’ll be surprised how far your budget will stretch. With a little creativity and money, you can find some beautiful accent pieces for your home.

As with normal stores, there are different tiers of resale shops; some are pricier than others. The general rule is that the shops with the lowest overall prices often have more “junk”. Being willing to sort through some “trash” before finding a treasure is a must. However, your treasure will likely cost only a fraction of its original price.

The nicer thrift shops (often called resale shops or consignment stores) have already sorted through a lot of the trash for you. They sell high-quality goods, so you generally won’t find cracked mugs, incomplete puzzles, or scratched furniture. The trade-off is that you’ll likely pay more for your finds. Of course, you’ll still end up paying much less than the original price.
